What a busy time! I'm sure it is for you too, with school finishing, graduations, weddings, and vacations
amongst all those other activities you undertake in the summer months. If you want respite from the heat -
and wow has it been hot! - begin a new project, come to a class, treat yourself, .....
I had a fun trip to Columbus, OH for the summer market and I am now just waiting for all the purchases to be
delivered. These will start arriving over the next week or so, so be sure to stop by often and see what's new.

NEW EVENT - Saturday, June 30th - "Spooky Stitching" - 6:00-11:00pm - Celebrate Halloween in June and
get a headstart on your holiday projects - join us for some fun and food and a special 'ghostly' project.

The next Beginner's Cross Stitch will be on Saturday, July 21st from 10:30am to 1:00pm - $15.00. If you
would like to brush up your knowledge or have friends or family that would like to learn call (305) 372-3730 to
register.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 24th - "Diver-SHEEP-ty" Day - for those of you that have wanted to
own a row of our four sheep. With a knotty one, a fluffy one, a hairy one, and a padded one, there is plenty
to learn and fun to be had. The cost will be $20.00 and the class will begin at 11:00am.
Tuesday Evening Stitching - we are just about to start a new project of the Elizabethan Sweet Bag by

Beaches and seaside and horses and monochromes seem to be popular this year with many of the new
items featuring these.
We begin with Mirabilia's new Mermaid of Atlantis $13.00, she rests on a marble column clutching a spiny
coral as she guards the treasures of Atlantis. The seaside theme is continued with Imaginating's Seashell
Welcome $7.00 and Seashell Silhouette $6.00. Random Thoughts of Summer $6.50 from Erica Michaels
continues Linda Stoltz's random thinking and the monochrome theme. She also has Random Thoughts of
Baby $6.50; stitch on Gingham fabric for a different look. Lizzie*Kate has also opted for Gingham with her
new Snippet Welcome Baby $4.00.
Sandra Sullivan of Homespun Elegance continues the monochrome baby theme with her Baby Sampler and
Door Hanger $8.00. Sandra has also produced Baby Pillows I $8.00 containing 4 designs for pillow edgings.
Olde Colonial Designs is producing the "Pampered Ones" Pillow Shams $30.00 for Homespun Elegance that
include the pillow form.
On the monochrome theme we are now stocking Ink Circles Designs, these are just fabulous and include
Cirque des Circles $16.00, Sea Stars $18.00, Garden Stars $21.00, Kaleidoscope $14.00, I still Do $25.00,
Alchemical Romance $14.00, and my favorite, Blackstone Fantasy Garden (not actually monochrome)
$16.00. From Needlmania we also have Fire Power $10.50, and Animal Crackers $6.00.
Just in, new HINZEIT Charmed Word blocks - Doctor, Ballet, Lawyer, Sports and Tennis $15.00 each, and
May through August, and September through December in The POint Is.. series $12.00 each. Additional new
charmed designs include Live - Love - Life, Nursery Rhymes, and Witches Way, also $12.00 each.
Victoria Samplers has a wonderful new design called Dragonfly Lace Sampler $10.00 (thread pack $15.50)
incorporting some simple stumpwork as well as Hardanger and drawn thread (we are considering doing this
as a Tuesday night project). O is for Operator $10.00 is the next in their alphabet series - I just love the way
they manage to find so many different stitches beginning with the letter - in this case Oblong Cross, Oblique
Slav, Open Buttenhole Filling, Open Chain, Open Wave, Overcast Bar, Oriental Couching, Octagonal
Rhodes, Open Cretan, Oblique Gobelin, Oblong Tied Cross to mention just some of them.
**** KITS
New Sweetheart Tree boxed kits are G is for Grapes and H is for Hearts, plus Pirouette in Purple $19.00
each. I find these terrific for travelling as everything is right there in a compact box.
**** BOOKS
The new A-Z of Whitework, the 15th book in the A-Z series is now available for $26.95. This includes notes
on Ayreshire Embroidery, Broderie Anglaise, Candlewicking, Carrickmacross Embroidery, Cutwork, Hedebo
Embroidery, Mountmellick Embroidery, and Shadow Work as well as detailed instructions of the stitches used
for each of these.
Embroidery to Embellish Everything $19.95 contains some 30 great designs to add stitched embellishments
to decorate clothing, bags, and household items.
**** Embroiderer's Guild - is on summer recess for the Friday meetings, Monday Stitch-Ins will continue with
the next one being on June 25th.
**** American Needlepoint Guild - the Royal Palm Chapter has been revived and is holding a meeting every
second Thursday at 6:30pm at the Coral Gables Youth Center.
